I'm new and need a little help

Kia Ora, Hello.

I have just bought TrackIR4 Ultra and am like a kid with a new bike, it's going to be awesome I'm sure about that but I cannot get it to work. It is on as the yellow led in the center shows that, there are also 4 red dots in a oblong position also showing on the screen but at the moment I cannot get any further than that. I'm a pensioner and absolutely hopeless with computers but I do 'love' Flight Sim X. I have my cap fitted with the 3 spring metal ends and also a white object with 3 ends that fits onto the left side of the earphones ( the same side as the camera).
I have read the quick instructions along with the full manual but I'm stuck here at the moment. Can somebody please take over from here.
