I just discovered this product yesterday, and it looks very promising (especially for its low price).
I still have a couple of questions:
I'd like to use trackIR and the dev kit to extract the position of the user's head in degrees related to the center of the screen (like +35 deg to the left, +16 deg elevation).
trackIR is to be limited to +/- 15 deg though.
I know it's possible to combine readings from different trackIR units to achieve larger coverage, but that seems rather complicated to me (as a first step).
I've read in a post that it should be possible to use wider angle lenses to increase the FOV (http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ ... wtopic&f=5).
Does anyone know what's the maximum FOV one can achieve with this technique (with a reference to the specific lense used) ?
Thanks a ton!

Increase the FOV
Re: Increase the FOV
Hello:
Yes, you can change out the lens in the trackIR. You will need to use a 12mm mini lens, you can get them many places, they are standard in all miniature cameras. Try www.mars-cam.com for some. You will need to modify the lens holder to fit in between our IR LED's though, so get a plastic one. Maximum FOV is whatever you want. The resolution will go down the more you spread it out.
