help required vista and black shark
Hi
I have the trackIR4, I'm having problems connecting to bs and other games. I run both bs and trackir in admin, tried the registry fix (found no probs). Tried re-installing. Tried different usb ports, computer and powered hub. One thing I have noticed is that if I uninstall trackir after say creating a new BS profile and then telling the uninstall to remove all profiles I still have the profile available on the new install of trackir! It's like it's not being uninstalled properly!
At the moment all I get is a flickering lower blue light on the camera.
I hope you can help as I can't see me playing BS without it!!
Best regards James

OK, with Vista 64-bit, it will still leave the old folder, in the Program Files (x86) folder, as it will not uninstall it due to permissions issues.
What version of the TrackIR software are you running?
Is BlackShark listed on the available games list (profiles tab)?
What other gaming applications are you having issues with?
Is the TrackIR device tracking within it's own software?

What version of the TrackIR software are you running? The latest version
Is BlackShark listed on the available games list (profiles tab)? Yes, However, if I run non admin I geta profile page with no BS or any updated games.
What other gaming applications are you having issues with? Tried fsx ans same prob
Is the TrackIR device tracking within it's own software? Occasionally for about a minute, then I notice there are red artifacts on the tracking screen...then trackir fails!

1 - Clean install of the software
Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html
version 4.1.036
2 - Run check for games update, within the TrackIR software
3 - Make sure you are running at the same permission level, with Vista for both the TrackIR software, as well as the gaming application.
4 - Are you connected directly to the PC, or are you using a hub?

Already done all that previously. At the mo I'm trying to run off a powered hub but I've tried direct to computer.
Power saving IS turned off.

OK, so selecting run as admin (right clicking on the exe shortcut) for both the TrackIR and gaming application, the blue LED never comes on?
What version of FSX are you runing, and Service Packs installed?

I should have explained that it did work for a while, after I got the trackir for xmas from my wife. nothing has been added or changed. It just decided not to work one day. That's when I tried uninstalling, installing, buying powered hubs, tried it on the laptop...nothing. From reading through the posts there are a few with the same problem and I've not seen a succesful remedy
It's starting to look like sending it back to RCsimulations.
Thanks for your help so far. Best regards James

No Vincent. Tried it on the laptop, same problem...blue light flickers weakly, no device detected, no tracking. I think it has to be a hardware issue.
