Hi,
we are a company from Germany and looking for a face motion capture system. As we are quite unacquainted with this subject i hope someone here can answer my first questions.
1) We are currently working with 3DS Max 9 so it's very important for us to know the workflow will go go off without a hitch. Is there any plugin for 3DS Max? Realtime support?
2) Assuming everything works fine with the face capture system (eg Expression Pro Package (7 cameras, markers, mounts, Hardware Key)) and we want to record a full body animation, what exactly do we need to expand?
3) I'm a little bit confused about the markers. The usage is limited to 1-2 uses? This means we have to buy a new set for each recording session?
Thanks in advance

Re: Thinking of buying Face Motion Capture
Thank you for your interest in the Expression software.
1 - Currently we don't have direct facial mocap plugin support for 3DStudio max. Our real-time plugin support for expression is limited to MotionBuilder, Face Robot, and Daz Studio. From what we have heard so far it appears that MotionBuilder is reqiured in order to get the non-real-time face mocap data into Max.
2 - To do full body mocap you would need the full-body Arena license, body capture suit, markers, and a different mounting system (tripods, clamps, wall mount, etc.) The cameras, cables, and calibration kit would remain the same.
3 - The adhesive material used on the facial markers looses its adhesiveness after 1-2 uses (depending on skin conditions). You can extend their use by using prop spirit gum for reattaching them after the initial use.
