sound conflict?

Post by taunton54 »

Have used Trackclip pro with FS2004 for last couple of years. Works perfectly with Game Commander and my Audio FX Pro headset combo. Recently installed CFS3 and OFF and no problems, works well with either CFS3 profile or Combat profile.
Yesterday, as no one was in the house, decided to use without headphones. Started CFS3 and screen was jumpy and stuttering when I banked and also looked around (I know there is an ocasional stutter in CFS3 but this was all the time). Tried updating trackir software but still same problem. Plugged headphones back in (they are a usb connection with separate audio drivers) and back to smooth performance! I also updated the onboard Realtek audio drivers but still same problem if I don't use usb headphones. I'm not very technical but is the cause of some of the "jumpy" problems in these posts down to conflicts with onboard soundcards or just certain types of motherboards? Mine's a Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-Sli.

I've never heard of the issue, where the software is in conflict.

What version of Windows are you running?

Any other applications runing in the background?

Do you still have the issue, when not running the TrackIR software?

Running Windows XP - fully updated.
Use Enditall2 to close down unnecessary programs.
Runs smooth when not using TrackIR software.
This is not a processor problem as my framrates are similar in both situations.

Not really a problem for me as I mainly use TrackIR with FS2004 and prefer the headphone/mike combination (especialy as Game Commander sometimes "hears" commands from the speakers).
