Press and hold disable hotkey
Press and hold disable hotkey
A "press and hold" disable hotkey would be a great addition, as now there is only a "press and hold" enable key (right ?). This would really come in handy when aiming in ArmA (and other FPS games for that matter).
Re: Press and hold disable hotkey
No you can either set it to press & hold, to enable the feature, or toggle option, which allows you to enable/disable without holding it down.
Toggle checkboxes
The Toggle feature changes the way the Hotkey works such that pressing the key once turns the associated hotkey feature on, and pressing the Hotkey again turns the feature back off. For example, turning Toggle on for the Precision hotkey would allow the user to turn Precision mode on with the first keypress, and turn Precision mode off with the next keypress, instead of only having Precision mode on while they key was held down.

Re: Press and hold disable hotkey
The thing is ; when I play with TrackIR enabled all the time, a press & hold button to disable it temporarily would be great (the opposite of what's possible ATM).
E.g. in ArmA there is a press & hold key for zoom (press to zoom in, release to zoom out again). I want to disable/enable TrackIR when pressing that key (not toggle).
Please make the hotkey set up a little more flexible, like allowing multiple keys for the same feature :
e.g. PAUSE = P and PAUSE = SHIFT + P
This would allow walking slowly by holding shift, and still have a working hotkey.

Re: Press and hold disable hotkey
using the toggler option allows it to only, in this case, pause the device when the button is pressed.

Yeah, that's the problem.
This is a feature request/suggestion BTW.

Re: Press and hold disable hotkey
I figured I could circumvent my little problem by mapping a press & hold 'precision' hotkey. Actually it works great, still my wish for a more user customizable hotkey setup remains, in particular the option to map a function to multiple keys. It's a little oversimplified right now IMHO.
Thanks for this great product !

Re: Press and hold disable hotkey
Hi Vincent,
I think what he's trying to describe is what I've previously highlighted in my request here:
http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... #Post25451
Basically what we want is the ability to disable/enable an axis or multiple axes on the fly with a hotkey.

Re: Press and hold disable hotkey
Just to be clear, my main request/wish is for a "PRESS & HOLD" disable hotkey.
Let me simplify:
PRESS KEY = Disable TrackIR (all axes)
RELEASE KEY = Enable TrackIR
To include what you were trying to highlight, I'd suggest a 'drag&drop list' for individual axes that won't be affected by this disable hotkey. So if you drag the X-axis (used for leaning) into that list and then press the disable hotkey, all axes except the X-axis will be disabled (you'll only be able to lean).

sk3pt, if I'm understanding you correctly, this is already possible. In your TIR profile, where you set your 'center', 'pause' and 'precision' hotkeys, there is a checkbox called 'trap'. It is checked by default but if you uncheck it for 'pause', it means that when you press your pause key, all TrackIR axes are disabled until you release the key. Essentially, that's what 'trap' means. When it's disabled, you get a press and hold function. Hope this helps.
Vincent,
Regarding my problem of disabling/enabling select (but yet not all) axes, I've thought of another possible way of implementing this. If it's not possible to assign a hotkey to pause/enable only my x, y and z axis for example, then how about the ability to assign a hotkey to switch between selected profiles? By having the ability to assign a hotkey to switch between profiles means that when I press the hotkey I switch to a profile where only my choice of axes is active. When I press it again, it reverts to the original profile.
My only concern here is that when switching profiles, all axis inputs/positions are reset. This would defeat the purpose.
Either way, I would really, really appreciate the ability to do this.
Regards.

This is something we are looking at for a future version of the software.
