TIR 3 - Green-Red shimmering

I have not been playing for a while and now my old TIR3 is acting up.

The view jitters the whole time and all around.

Whenever I go into the driver in the "Tracking" window the 3 dots shimmer red and green (which explains the jitter in all games). I tried to turnoff all light but to no avail. In both the "Tracking" window there are no interference behind.




I have disabled the powersave in all my USB Hubs to solve it but to no avail.


Any idear how to solve this?

OS: WinXP Pro Sp3 with the latest patches.

Have you tried moving USB ports, on another system?

It could be the imager chip is strating to fail.

Yes. I tried moving it to other ports.

I have tried to move it to my kidbrothers PC., with the same result.
(His is with an AMD 3200x2 (I think) with a Radeon x1950, where as mine is an Intel Duo with an nVidia 8800. Can't be more different than that
BTW: All of the tested systems use Window XP Pro.)


Just to be sure I installed the newest driver(4.1 Build 37) on my old IBM Thinkpad T42 (Intel Pentium Mobile 1.6 GHz). There everything worked A OKAY
So now I am totally confused.

So where do I got from here? The T42's days of gaming are looooong gone
