Hi,
I'm trying mouse emulation with some FPS, but when the "track ir mouse emulation" windows goes in background the mouse is no more controlled.
I've noticed this behaviour also in windows, minimizing (not closing) the mouse emulation window
I'm doing something wrong? thanks in advance
best regards
ettore
mouse emulation doesn't wors in background
Re: mouse emulation doesn't wors in background
The mouse emulation won't work on the system desktop, only in a gaming application that is using direct input for mouse control.
What gaming application are you trying to use it in?

Re: mouse emulation doesn't wors in background
Hello to all,
Ettore is right, there is some problem when Mouse Emulation is in background, a problem that I did not have formerly.
And it is not game dependant...
I own a TrackIR 4 Pro, and on my last PC (a Core 2 Duo, on a Windows Vista Home Premium OS), th mouse emulation worked well. I used only that function of the TrackIR, as I am playing only FPS, where the mouse emulation is the only way of using TrackIR (even if limited, I have to admit that it is awesome!).
Now I have changed my PC, and I am running an Intel i7 , with the same Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit as before.
Now, I installed the driver (and I have tried this with the old 4.1.036, and also with the new 4.1.037... obviously not the v5, as it does not support single dot tracking), and everything works: the software is receiving correct signals from the TrackIR unit.
Then, if you lounch Mouse Emulation, it works correctly, but ONLY IF THE MOUSE EMULATION WINDOWS IS KEPT OVER EVERY OTHER WINDOW!!!
You can move the cursor correctly over the desktop with little head movements, as it was before, but if you click anywhere on the desktop (and so the mouse emulation windows is no more the first window), th pointer stops!
I can see in the backgrounded mouse emulation windows that it is still receiving signals when moving my head, but they are no longer applied to the pointer.
Problem is, that if you start mouse emulation and the launch a game, obviously mouse emulation goes in background, and even if still receiving inputs from the reflective dot, it does not move the mouse...
So, it must be a new type of bad correlation between TrackIR mouse emulation connection to mouse movement, and some recent Windows update...
Please, Natural Point, solve this problem!!!
Thanks...

What gaming application are you using?
Do you have all applications running as an admin?

Re: mouse emulation doesn't wors in background
Hello,
I confirm that the problem is GAME INDEPENDENT!
i.e. Also on desktop, I can control the mouse with TrackIR only when the Mouse Emulation windows OR the TrackIR main window is the selected windows on desktop. As soon as I click anywhere else on the desktop (or on any other application), the pointer stops moving (but I can still see in the backgrounded mouse emulation windows that the program continue to correctly track my movements... they just are not translated in real pointer movement!).
Knowing this, the problem is that, obviously, every time I start a whatsoever game, I am putting the mouse emulation window in background (as it is no more the selected window), and so the pointer will not move! (but I know that the mouse emulation windows is still receiving signals, but they will not move the mouse).
Just to give you a title, I have just verified all this with FEAR 2... But this happens with every game!

What other applications are you looking to use it with?
