TrackIR Version 4.1 Build 37

When I start TrackIR and the window appears there is a toolbar at the top with the following labels:

File
View
Options
Tools
Update
Help

When I click on Tools a drop down list appears with the choices:

Start Recording
Playback

If I click on start recording the status changes to Recording.
When I click on Stop Recording the status changes to Tracking.
If I click on playback the status changes to playback.
When I click on stop playback the status changes to Tracking.

What exactly are these functions/options for and how are they used?

Thiis is a diagnostic tool.

It allows you to create a file, which you can send to us, so we can see what the heads are doing within the software.

Thank you for that answer. I might point out that there is no explanation of this in the manual nor does give any directions on how and when to use it.

The recording tool likely won't be a normal component of the final TrackIR software. Rather, it is a feature that we've included to expedite development as we press on toward TrackIR 5.0 final. Thus the manual's silence on the subject.
