trackir recognition

Hello
I've had my new trackir 4 pro now for about two weeks and I am absolutely loving it......however today when went to start it up in the status bar it says 'no device' so I unplug it and replug it to try again(no joy) I restart (no joy)I re-read the troublshooting section and ultimately uninstall and reinstall.......(no joy)
I'm getting no led lights on the unit, and I'm not getting the usual XP sound when you plug or unplug a USB device(other devices are work in the usb slot that I am using for the trackir)

so Ive been browsing the forum looking for similar issues, and I tried the registry edit thing in the sticky......no joy. I've noticed that everyone else that has come to the same spot as I'm at has been told to email you at support with the serial number of the unit, located on the chord near the usb plug or on the underside of the unit...... I have no number in either location.
please advise

There is no label, with a bar code, on the end of the camera USB cable?

Where did you purchase the device?

No there is not a label anywhere, I purchased it from Extreme Gaming Devices, which as I understand is the only authorized dealer in Canada. I havent contacted them with this as I would expect them to tell me to contact you, also they are in Saskatchewan and I live in British Columbia.......As I look at my invoice I see that I purchased it on the june 9th and I have a thirty day return policy so if it's to go back to them it should be soon, of course now I'm hooked and cant imagine life without it
