Zoom function according to changing dot distance?

Could it be possible to implement a zoom function?

In the tracking tab I can see that if I move the dot closer to the camera the height and width value increase.

I think this could be used to send user-defined keystrokes at certain dot sizes (=distances). This could be utilized for example in IL2/FB, because it provides commands for changing field of vision, eg. certain keystrokes.

On the other hand, I have a habit of moving my head closer to screen to see the far away aircraft (maybe just a couple of pixels wide objects!). This of course causes rapid changes in the view. Could the X/Y movement be frozen if the height is increasing/decreasing?

Perhaps a Z-axis would represent the dot distance?

This would be tricky as most users use different size dots. HotDogNZ has a clover pattern for his and I use a slightly modified version of his with 3 dots.

If this was implimented, they would need to make the size of the dot at each incriment a customizable feature.

I dont know exactly how hard that would be, but it is a good question to ask.

Would a second camera be needed to triangulate the changing depth of the dot as it moves?

Great idea though! Imagin in a flight-sim the HUD view changing to a close up hud view just buy leaning forward. I like it!
