I am having very erractic tracking in FSX. The view leaps around the cockpit, turns in the opposite direction from the way my head moves and oftens jumps to directly looking up or down randomly. I have tried adjusting the smoothing, reversing the tracking (which works till next time i start) The tracking looks good on Track IR, no reds and follows head movement, so I was wondering if there is a problem with TrackIR and FSX. FSX addons are Level D 767, PMDG 747 & MD-11, CS 757, and some scenery stuff. I am using the latest TrackIR software.
Bascially makes using it impossible as the tracking in FSX does not follow the tracking from TrackIR.
So if anyone knows of a fix be great!
Disregard that fixed it, seems you have to start TrackIR before FSX. I still have one more problem and that is the keys to pause and centre and use prescision dont work when you have FSX selected, i have to TAB out to TrackIR hit the F9 key and then tab back into FSX any thoughts on that issue?
I think I fixed this one, looks like you have to run TRACKIR as administrator. Really windows Vista is a balls of a operating system, they are supposed to makes things work easier rather than harder as time goes by, getting Vista to work correctly with programs reminds me of windows 3.1 days were you prayed that any software you got would work with whatever hardware you had.
OK update again this is really driving me crazy, to get the key assignements to work in TrackIR you have to run it as admin, HOWEVER running it as admin is what is causing the crazy leaping around screen of your viewpoint and the reversal of the way you look ie head turns left view turns right, totally confused as of right now, why on earth would running the program as admin cause the view to get totally whacked out?
TrackIR issues in FSX
Re: TrackIR issues in FSX
Are you runinng both the TrackIR, and FSX as an admin?
The F9, F12, and F7 keys used by the TrackIR software, are also used by FSx, so you may need to reassign them within the TrackIR software to other keys. You can use either joystick keys, or I also use the Pause Break, ScrLck, and PrtScr keys on the keyboard.
Do you have the TrackClip, or TrackClip Pro selected?
Are you using the TrackClip, or TrackClip pro?
What version of the TrackIR software are you using?

Re: TrackIR issues in FSX
I'd guess it is the differences between admin and normal user directories... FSX might be looking up different .ini or .cfg files from the %appdata%\folders somehow...I think? It's true of XP, if you "run as" an application as administrator, and the administrators My Documents folder is not available, we'll see errors.
Reason 1 that I removed and replaced Vista with XP. (Windows7 doesn't look to be much different behind the scenes in this respect either). Long Live XP !
