I've tried to connect it to all sorts of USB plugs on my computer, nothing happens. I have the driver installed, windows 7.
i plugged it into my PS3's USB port just to see if it gets power, nothing happens

works now, sorry.
It did however take around 100+ plug-unplugs until windows and the driver detected and turned on the device. I had tried plugging without anything else plugged, plugging in all sorts of ports, and now i have it working plugged at the back of the pc.
