No movement in FSX.

Post by flyinjake »

Hello,
I have been running TrackIR 4 for some time now. I had to make changes to FSX and now I cannot get TrackIR to work in FSX. It still works in other games though.

I have been running TrackIR4 and FSX succesfully for sometime. I was having problems with FSX so I removed it and then reinstalled it on its own drive. During that time FSX and TrackIR worked fine. Again I had an issue where I needed to remove FSX. After reinstalling I am not able to get trackIR working with FSX. I have tried ver 5.0 software as well as ver 4.0. I have searched and tried all different types of ideas to get it to work. All other programs work fine but no movement in FSX. The TrackIR software shows movement but I do not have a blue LED when in FSX.

Currently running XP 32 bit with Ver 5.0 software. FSX is SP1 with no addons.

Thanks
Robert

Have you tried updating to SP2, for FSX?

What firewall/antivirus software are you using?

Vincent,
No I have not tried SP2 but it seems that it was working under SP1 at one time. I may be wrong about that. Would like to stay away from SP2 if possible.

I have turned off, removed any antivirus or firewall software.

It was working and then stopped. No problems in other sims\games.

Do not get a blue light on the camera. What would stop that from happening?

Thanks
Jake

Well, there was an issue, with the initial release of FSX, that sometimes the SimConnect portion would just stop working.

They never did determine that cause, but did remedy it with the release of SP2, which changed the network interface within FSX itself

and that was a hit or miss type of deal?

If no other thoughts I will try it later and then see if I can back out of SP2 and it still work.

OK, one step to try.

1 - Delete the following file folder(s)

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10...............

2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Please let me know if this help

Vincent,
That worked. I had done that previously but only deleted one of them not knowing there was two similiar folders.

Thanks for your support.

Vincent, I'm having the same problem and after checking my entries in C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\ I have three x86_Microsoft_Flight_Simulator.SimConnect... entries but when I try to delete them I get a "Destination Folder Access Denied" window stating "You need permission to perform this action". Of course the "Try Again" button gets me nowhere. I've been able to run programs as administrator so I am at loss as what to do.
Help will be greatly appreciated.
