TrackIR 5 software problem

Hi there,

I received my TrackIR 5 today, I downloaded the latest TrackIR 5 software from your site and installed it. Plugged the device in, the computer detects the device fine, but when I try to load the software up by double clicking the icon on my desktop, it opens but then immediately freezes, clicking on anything does nothing, and it says "not responding" in the titlebar, also I cannot use task manager to end program, I have to restart the computer, and then its the same problem after i restart.

any help greatfully received.

Which video card drivers are you using?

Are you running any other applications in the background?

Are you also running the Nvidia software?

Have you tried using the 4.1.037 TrackIR software?

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

1. 191.07 - I tried the very latest but they have messed up OpenGL.
2. I have my logitech Setpoint software and Microsoft Security Essentials.
3. Nvidia software?
4. Nope but I'm just about to install it now, but even if it works, I would like to resolve the v5 problems if possible.

EDIT: Just tried out v4 and it works fine, well Havent tried it in a game yet but its not crashing and its picking up my movements.

Hi SazBard. Support is out for Christmas break until Monday, so I'm afraid it's going to be on hold until then. In the meantime, I'd recommend using version 4.x so you can still use your TrackIR.

Try disabling any background applications that you have running.

There very well could be an issue with the video card drivers you currently have installed, and the OpenGL that they use, in comparision to the openGL the IR 5 software is using.
