hi,
i have a very old Natural Point with the Serial 007xxx. That means that i can only use the SmartNav 2.20 Version. With XP it was working well but now i have Windows 7 64 Bit and it doesn`t work anymore. Ok, the software is released 2003.
Now the question is, is there a possibility to run the V.2.2 with Windows 7? If not, i have to buy a new Natural Point which works with SmartNav 3 or 4, right?
Exuse my english...

SmartNav 2.20 and Windows 7 64Bit? Any Chance?
Re: SmartNav 2.20 and Windows 7 64Bit? Any Chance?
I do not work for NaturalPoint, so I may be wrong, but you could try running the software in XP compatibility mode. Right-click on the SmartNav software icon, click on properties then on the compatibility tab, then check the run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows XP in the drop-down box.
It may or may not work, but if it does, then at least you don't need to get a new SmartNav. On the other hand, it may be a good time/excuse to upgrade.

Thx for the answer. I tried to run the software in XP compatibility mode and as administrator but it didn`t work.
I can install the software, but when i plug in the device it is marked as unknown device in system control, so the driver didnt work.

Unfortunately, Windows 7 requires certified drivers, which are not part of the 2.20 software.
The SmartNav 2.20 drivers are also only available for 32 bit operating systems, they will not work with 64 bit operating systems.
