Cannot Install this Hardware error - Windows XP

Installed the SmartNav4 software, then plugged in the device. The Found New Hardware Wizard reports: "Cannot install this hardware. There was a problem installing... NaturalPoint SmartNav 4...The system cannot find the file specified."

I have tried an the automatic install and manually pointing to the CD and to the drivers file in the NaturalPoint folder in Program files.

IS this a laptop, or desktop system?

Are you connecting directly to the PC, or are you using a hub of any kind?

same issue but i think its a bad device. im using my old smartnav3 for now. i use both hub and direct usb for testing purposes . i might have to replace my smartnav4 i use both laptop & destop. laptop for traveling. can i send my smartnav4 back and get a replacement?
