Just Got TrackIR5-Can't Get It To Work With IL-2 4.09m

Post by mattmcgonegle »

TrackIR seems to be installed ok. Read manual, set IL-2 profile to "Smooth",see 3 green dots etc.etc. It seems to be functioning ok by itself. I start TrackIR, then IL-2. V4.09m stand-alone didn't show view moving. I loaded UP2.0(Ultra-Pack mod package) on top of std IL-2 V4.09m because it has a mod called "6DOF_Tracker_2_0_sHr", which i loaded via JSGME(Generic Mod Enabler). Still no movement of view when i move my head.
Plz Help a Novice.

Have you tried talking to the mod developers?

If I understand his post correctly, he only used the mod after seeing that the view wasn't moving in the standard IL2.

Ok now, what I'm saying here comes with no guarantee, as I haven't really played IL2 in a long while.
But I seem to recall that in the game certains views (inside the cockpit) prevent track IR movement. To check if it might be that, once you launched the game and are in a cockpit, try to play with the different views (by default the Delete, End and Page Down keys), starting with the "large view" (default : Page Down).

Also, try switching between the 2 different types of view (panoramic and...something else). By default this is the F9 key, but since this key is also the default one to activate/disable the track IR, you should attribute it to something else before you do any tests in game.

Yup, try going into controls and deleting all keys associated with views as those keys might be conflicting with proper operation of the device.
