Has anyone noticed that in a 3-D cockpit, looking up and down using TrackIR3, when you look down at the instruments, your virtual head also bends by the neck. It makes it hard to properly scan the instruments while spotting your landing point.
Is there a way to make the pitch view rotate about a point instead?
Usually during the landing phase, you want to keep your head still and only move your eyes to scan the instruments and spot your landing, in order to keep your sight-lines steady (i.e. engine cowling in relation to your chosen aiming point).
Since FS9/FSX virtual cockpit behaves in the later fashion, I'm assuming this is more an X-Plane issue, possibly a config file tweak?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: TrackIR3 pitch is not simple rotation in X-Plane
Are you using the vector expansion, with the TrackIR 3, or the single dot tracking mode?
What version of the IR software are you using?

Yes, I'm using vector expansion, TIR3 v4.1b37.
Re: TrackIR3 pitch is not simple rotation in X-Plane
The rotation point of the TrackIR software is set to approx. the base of the neck, as that is where your head position is rotating
Re: TrackIR3 pitch is not simple rotation in X-Plane
Can the rotation point be adjusted? I don't have an issue when using FS9/X, only X-Plane. Is there a config file setting or anything I have control over, or do I live with it?
Re: TrackIR3 pitch is not simple rotation in X-Plane
Currently there is no way to adjust the rotation point, within the software.
