F7, F9 or F12 not mapping to FSX

The trackIR works in FSX but the keys are not working, so I cannot center, pause or slow down the movement.

What needs to get reset?

Have you tried running both the TrackIR software, and the gaming application as an admin (right click on the exe file for each, and select run as admin)?
