mapping to Joystick buttons
mapping to Joystick buttons
I just got my TrackIR yesterday and was setting it up for use and was trying to map the "reset center" to a joystick button, but I'm unable to get it to accept it. This would be most convienient, as I fly while in a large, comfortable, leather, rocker/recliner (I fly in the upright position
). But it is a little uncofortable to have to reach forward to hit a reset but while manuvering, when the joystick is right in my hands. Have I missed a way of mapping this?
Thanks for the info.

Re: mapping to Joystick buttons
Requested here and here since it's not possible to map analog buttons to TIR-functions yet.
The only way right now requires a programmable joystick or a tool to assign keystrokes to your joystick. Then you can simply assign the required keystroke (e.g. F12 to center the TIR) to a stick-button and won't need to grab for the keyboard any more.

Re: mapping to Joystick buttons
I do not know what part of Direct X (if any) the TIR drivers are using, but DXinput should be mappable to any DX complient device.
So in theory it should be possible to map a joy stick button to TIR in theory.
Sorry NP if I have put you on the spot it was not intentional.
