TrackIR 5 slow response

Post by Crockett »

This is happening while playing Rise of Flight. I don't know if this will happen in any other games as I haven't been playing anything else.

Most of the time my Track IR 5 works as it should work -- probably 95% of the time. Every once in a while -- after TrackIR has been working properly -- I'll start a mission and the response time for a head movement is radically slowed down. This usually, although not always, happens during one gaming session. It's working fine in one mission then in the next mission it's slowed down.

I'll move my head and not only is the response slow but the view seems to float to where I'm looking. I've been able to get it to work properly by quitting the game, shutting down the TrackIR program then restarting Track IR then Rise in Flight.

Sometimes TrackIR will have the slow response time when I first start the game.

I'm using the software that I downloaded when I received TrackIR 5 (TrackIR 5.0.Final.b).

Any fixes?

My configuration:
TrackIR 5 with the hat TrackClip
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Case
CPU: Intel Core i5-750 overclocked to 3700 MHz
CPU cooler: Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic
Mobo: MSI P55-GD65 LGA 1156
8 GB Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (4 x 2GB)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM SATA
Video Card: Powercolor ATI 5770 (ATI Catalist 10.4 Driver)
DVD Drive: Lite-On 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS-324-98
PSU: Thermaltake Black Widow W0319RU - 850Watt
KVMP Switch: Iogear GCS1802 MiniView 2-Port

Are you connecting directly to the PC, or using a hub?

Any other applications running in the background?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s) that show and turn off the power saving feature that turn those ports off when idle. Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Same issue here, with Il2. It happens rarely, but it is annoying. I am obliged to move a little the sliders "smooth" and "speed" in the trackIR console, then it disappears.

I will try the USB power saving trick.

Also make sure that you aren't using the F7 key, which would be enabling the "precision" mode.
