Arma 2 sever performance issues

Got a Trackir today (fairly excellent piece of hardware) but when playing Arma 2 (all variants) i have a severe performance drop with the trackIR software running.

Normally get 60fps in 1920.1080 with Windows 7 Ultimate E6850 4gb ram and 4870. But if trackir is running i get 10 fps, killing the program instantly sends my fps back to 60.

Task manager says trackir is using 35% Cpu and a lot of ram. But once i close trackir the game returns to normal, using the latest software downloaded today.

Are you running the TrackIR software"open" or are you minimizing the application to the system tray?

thanks for the rpely.

I tried it with it minimsed and without still the same issue. Running it as Administrator halved the amount of CPU usage and brought the game up to 30fps.

I will try running it at a higher priority later as Arma doesnt use a lot of CPU.
