Problems with cameras
Problems with cameras
Hello,
On our system there are two cameras that are capturing too few samples on certain areas (lens areas).
We swap them with another two cameras that were obtaining good samples to test if the problem was the slight light that was coming through the windows but the cameras are still capturing too few samples on the same areas.
Can it be a hardware problem? and, there is something that can be done to test the camera?
Thanks.

Re: Problems with cameras
So the issue does not follow the cameras, but that area of aiming?
Is there areas being masked within the camera preview area?
Can you see the markers, within that camera view, when not trying to capture data?

Re: Problems with cameras
- No, is not the area of aiming. Is a region of the camera. Aiming to some other part obtains the same results (in the preview a region is not capturing samples, for example, the left region).
- No, it's not masked. It's not an area of the volume, is a region of the camera.
- Yes, the markers can be seen but, when we are calibrating the system, cant fill one camera with samples because a region is not capturing samples (even when another cameras are capturing them).

Re: Problems with cameras
I'm not clear on this, if you changed cameras around, does the issue follow the camera?
How large is your setup area?
How close to the cameras are you wanding?

Re: Problems with cameras
- Yes, the issue follows the camera.
- The cameras are at 7x7 meters (8 cameras).
- From 1 to 6 meters but the cameras have the same issues regardless the distance (a region of the camera preview not capturing samples)

Re: Problems with cameras
What version of the OptiTrack software are you using?
When looking at the camera previiew view, and select gray scale)med.) do you see a clear image in the camera window?

Re: Problems with cameras
2.2.2 and yes, on gray scale the image is clear. In precision mode the camera see the wand markers clearly but doesnt capture samples (in the camera preview window a region cant be painted).
Re: Problems with cameras
Can you provide some screen shots, that display the issues you are having?
Also, have you checked the lens for smears or fingerprints? Does the focus on the problematic cameras look as crisp as cameras which are performing well?

Re: Problems with cameras
The problem has been partially solved after swapping the cameras again.
Now, the cameras are taking samples on all regions but the two that where having problems, are taking samples slower than the others, about half the samples, specially on the problematic regions.
And a new problem has appeared. The calibration engine obtains too bad results (the system is unusable). If we use the one marker calibration tool the results are good but with the three marker wand they are too bad.
Capturing more samples (1000 or more per camera) doesnt solve the problem.
I have two calibrations, one with the one marker tool and the other with the three marker tool, and the wanding timeline.
I can send them if you want (the wanding timeline size is 36 mb)

Re: Problems with cameras
try uninstall and reinstall, restart
worked for me, I had problems calibrating with the new version for the firts time.
Good Luck
