TrackIR3 & future developments

Post by JG2_Oesau »

I'm looking at buying trackur3 pro with the vector expansion. I currently have trackir2, but am feeling reluctant at getting 3 as when I got version 2 it wasn't long after that trackir3 came out.

I understand the story behind trackir3 and how it was never intended to be released so close after version 2. However, I'd like to get the vector (and therefore have to get version 3) to try it out on BoBII WOV. This leads me to the question, is there any likely hood that in the next 8 - 12 months that something new will be released that will leave trackir3 incompatible like trackir2 and vector?

I understand that this is probably difficult to answer, as it's important to keep the edge (but lets face it, where's the competition?) on the market and not to give away any upcoming releases to early.

Hello JG2_Oesau,

I appricate your concern about purchasing a product, only to have it become last years model. The story of TIR2 is correct, we were in a forced product upgrade at that time.

NaturalPoint is always working on new and exciting products and we will be introducing them to our customers as they are ready. TIR 3 was introduced in May of last year, so we are well over a year old there already, a bit of time in this marketplace. We believe TIR 3 is a great product and it will be compatible with new software we release, it is safe to consider it an investment, but like all technology, new stuff will come out that is faster and better, just the name of the game I guess.

I hope this answers your question, as best as we possibly can at this point.
