TrackIR & IL2 v4.10

OK, let me see if I can explain a problem I have with Track IR & IL2 v4.10.
I installed 4.10 on a 4.09 vanilla copy of the game - everything works fine but TrackIR doesn't.
It works out of game, and on the 4.09 Mod/HSFX game. It also works fine with Rise of Flight.
Then I installed the UP version of 4.10 that works with JSGME. Switched it to 4.10 and again TrackIR doesn't work.
I have pulled all the plugs and re-set them on TrackIR - rebooted etc. etc.
To me it seems that it's not TrackIR but something in 4.10 settings maybe?
If anybody has an idea I would love to hear it.

What OS are you using?

Was it working on the standard 4.09 install?
