Dual display problems

Running windows 7

When I setup my monitors like this:

I have no problems. I can use the smart nav to go back and forth between screens

When I set up my monitors like this

I can move the monitor from the main screen to the 2nd smaller screen. But when I try to go back to the larger screen the mouse cursor gets stuck in the smaller screen and I cant get out of it using smartnav. Only using a traditional mouse can i go back to the original screen.

Ive updated to latest drivers and downloaded latest software. Im puzzled.
