This is a very strange fault that it happens after a few days.

STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, <address>, <address> is normally a memory issue however it can also mean that the USB bandwidth consumption exceeds the 100-percent maximum that the USB 2.0 update or XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) allow, you'll receive the error you mention. Specifically, if existing USB devices are already using the maximum bandwidth and you add another USB device you'll receive the following error message.

If your memory tests okay, and you are running a soundblaster souncard check that you have the latest update to your card.

Does this happen without fail every few days? Do you leave your computer on or are your powereing down each day?

Check that you are using the latest drivers for your motherboard. I would like you to go into the device manager and see what the power requirements of TrackIR is and then let me know.

Please check the above and then we can go from there.

Thanks for your comments. There's a misunderstanding about reboots occurring after a few days. Only on the very first occasion did the reboot occur a couple of days after the very first installation. Since that time it is usually 5 to 15 minutes after plugging in the TIR3 Pro --- and I am only plugging it in as I come to that step in the normal installation process. Sometimes when a reboot starts, the computer bombs to another restart even before it has completed the initial unexpected reboot. Unplugging the TIR always stops this recurring problem, and I can then go indefinitely with no more reboot problem. (I do normally keep my computer on continuously.)

On the last couple of installation attempts, I have only had the CH USB Yoke plugged in the rear of the computer and the TIR in the front.

I have been, and will probably continue to use the TIR exclusively with FS2004. It (TIR3 Pro) is truly FANTASTIC. I also fly a real airplane (private pilot), and I see the TIR as a major aid in staying fresh when schedules and weather preclude more time in the air.

I will look into the other items you mentioned -- need to get some rest now. May take a day or so. I am thinking about trying an install at my office on a non-networked computer to see if the same problem shows up there.

Checking the power requirements with the device manager could be a little tricky with the reboots often happening fairly quickly, but I'll try.

Anyway, thank you very much for your input. I will get on it as quickly as possible.

I do. Currently I get a problem after using trackIR3 for about 20-30 mins. TrackIR stops working in the game, and I have to quit the game, but cannot close the frozen NaturalPoint program - end task does not work either.

This is in mouselook mode so far noticed when playing Wings of War. I have to hit the power button to shutdown (not good).

sorry for the late response. My TIR is currently being tested to determine if it is defective. I'm closing out on this topic until a determination is made.
