TrackIR with Falcon Allied Force

Post by TonyPiech »

I'm using TrackIR Ver. 4.1 Build 25 and my TrackIR3 Pro # is 31856.

I'm having trouble getting my unit to work with Falcon4.0 Allied Force in 2-D mode. It works fine in Virtual cockpit (3-D mode) but it has a sizeable lag and jerkyness that makes it unusuable in 2-D mode.

Also I'm not 100% sure if I loaded the Falcon4.0-AF title. It's real confusing to me what profile I've loaded when looking at the profile screen. The top portion says Falcon 4.0 -AF combat flight in the Assign profiles to Titles section,... but does that mean that that's the title loaded? I need some guidance.

Like I said above it works great in Virtual Cockpit mode, and its erractic and unstable in 2-D mode. I'd like to know how to make it work in 2-D mode. And, have I really loaded the Falcon4.0-AF profile into my TrackIR ?

I can not get it to work period. I am using the updated drivers but in the oplog for falcon it say "TrackIR developer ID unknown, please upgrade to latest Natural Point software."
Most likely I am not doing something right. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I guess I got my question somewhat answered when viewing a thread on this topic in the Falcon-Allied Force forum on the SimHq website.

Bullet, when you update to the latest driver, it will probably work. However, but trust me --- it will not work well. Hopefully one day the developer and NaturalPoint can get it to work as it works in 3-D mode.

TrackIR will be disabled in 2D mode with the upcoming patch. It's better that way.

I am using TrackIR Ver 4.1.025 and TrackIR3 Pro #33876. All latest games updated.

I got TrackIR itself running with no problems, i.e. tracking screen shows green hits (active tracking) and normal head following.

I am using the latest Falcon4 AF patch. TrackIR simply does not work in the game. It could turn on/off though and I see the blue game-enhanced light.

Please advise. I have already tried reboots, restarts and such.

I use a Toshiba TecraM3 with 128Mb Nvidia if it helps.

Thanks!
