Hi all,
I am experiencing some strange effects upgrading my CPU from a 1.8 GHz P4 to a 2.8 GHz P4 (HT 800 MHz FSB).
There is a strange delay, 0.5 to 1 sec, in the software reacting to me moving my head.
I have used TIR for about a year with great pleasure (mostly for IL-2 FB and BoB), I also understand how all the settings work. I use no deadzone at all because with TIR normally I have complete control over my views.
Adjusting settings like speed and smoothness makes no difference.
Help!
I have tested this with several TIR drivers, 2.11, 2.12 & 2.20. The effect is allways there.

Strange delays after hardware upgrade
Re: Strange delays after hardware upgrade
Hi, Fokker!
I think I have exactly the same problem. I replaced my CPU and motherboard, switching to a P 4 2.6 800 mhz FSB with an ASUS P4P800 mainboard (chipset is Intel 865), and I get the delays you describe.
I have noticed that they are much more frequent online, almost never get them when flying offline. They seem to be related to the amount of workload on the system.
It's not related to the tracking of the dot, they can happen when looking straight, i.e. when the dot is in the center of the field of tracking.
Another thing is that in enhanced mode the centering is off after one of those pauses
I have tried connecting the unit to several USB ports, with different hubs and different IRQ's.
My system:
P 4 2.6 HT
1024 MB RAM 400
ASUS P4P800
GeForce 4 Ti 4200
Onboard sound
MS Sidewinder FFB 2
XP Home SP 1
DX 9.0b
