Well I'm using the Alpha and for some reason the bugs seems to have shaken out.

It's working great for me and I particularly love the extra ability to pan in all views. One question though - in external view the pan seems a bit unintutive since it pans the 'wrong way'. Is there a way to swap the external (Spot plane) view's Left-Right axis without affecting the other views (particularly cockpit)? That way when you turn your haed left you look left not right.

Cheers

There is no way to adjust the panning setting in spot view.

There currently is no option to disable the external view working with the TrackIR.

All too true. Unfortunately, this is not the crowd who would implement such a change either. That part rests with Microsoft I presume. Let's see if they bother to change it or not.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Microsoft Games has established any sort of forum for customers to provide feedback or suggestions. At least not that I can find.

Has the trackIR team at least contacted them about this issue? If not does anyone know of an email address where they can be contacted?

So, should we lean on MS to fix this in the patch or would you have better luck?

The Tracking in Spot and 2D views is really annoying IMO
Other than that, Track IR is working very nicely in the FSX VC. Good job on the updates...

It is something that has been brought up with Microsoft. Part of it is tied up in the way FSX sets priority for head tracking units in general, not just the TrackIR. It may come down to something we will have to "live" with.

How about the original issue reported? Not being able to move about the cockpit. Any progress there?

Thanks much

Currently, due to the way FSX sets priorities for head tracking, you need to pause the TrackIR software before adjusting set location.

Email them at tell_fs@microsoft.com. You won't get a reply but they genuinely read every email they get on that address and will implement any ideas they deem worthy.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they're already working on a patch for FSX so get typing - you never know!

Well, there will be a patch for FSX, when DX10 and Vista are released.

I wouldn't mind that so much other than the fact that when you unpause, it snaps you back to their default position.
