FSX saves your profile setting in your My Documents folder for each user on the system, and I'm not sure it is deleted when the software is uninstalled.

Try the following step......

1 Delete the following file folder

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

2 Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Please let me know if this helps.

Oh yes there is.. Joy and happiness has begun again..
Following the rune from the master (Sensei Vincent).. deleting the mumble .dll
and it goes blue, blue, blue..
Apart from the need to tune it up again this is great.
Me and the Beaver are out there again after weeks of desultory tweaking 2004 and buying addons (retail therapy)..
Thank you Vincent and Speed2 and all the other heros of the uninstall-install delete cycle.

So what actually was wrong? Can it be fixed permanently or is this the rune for all time..
What ever they pay you vincent its not enough..

Actually, it looks like the issue is the simconnect dll file gets corrupted. Then if you do a normal uninstall, and reinstall the file isn't overwritten, so it still has the data corruption. Where if you delete the file, then do the repair install, FSX detects that the file isn't installed, then reinstalls it with the correct info.

Basically, it looks like a FSX issue, not specific to the TrackIR.

P.S. - Glad to hear it is working for you......

Hello

I still can't manage to use my TrackIR 4 with Microsoft FSX. I don't have any blue light when playing FSX and the TrackIR software doesn't load any profile during the game. I've tried installing different versions of the TrackIR software, including the latest 4.1.029 beta4. I've also tried to temporary disable my firewall and repair the installation of FSX after deleting the file simconnect.dll but... nothing seems to work, unfortunately!

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Actually delete the folder that contains the dll file, not just the file itself.

Hi Vincent, thanks for your quick reply.

I've also tried deleting the entire folder as you suggested but it didn't work. I did it before to install the updated TrackIR software.

I'm having the same issues

I'm trying this fix now, Fingers and toes crossed.

It's something of a tribute to TrackIR that so many people suddenly find the game unplayable when they've used TrackIR then it stops working
