Hi all:
I posted this in another thread but thought I might share here also:
I received my TrackIR a few weeks ago and had the same problem with the left head motion going wacky.
I un-installed version 4.1.036 and used ealier versions with basically the same problem, i.e. no change.
I seem to have solved my spastic left turn tracking quite by accident. I happened to click on the Settings button with the Tracking window open and noticed that the setting for Light Filtering was enabled and by default was much higher than in previous versions. I reduced the setting to 125, clicked OK and lo and behold, everything was smooth!
Hope the fix is as simple as this for the rest of you.

BTW, I went back to using 4.1.036 and everything works quite well.

Re: Not tracking properly.. Just Trackclip Pro
I was experiencing the same exact problem. Just got my TrackIR today. Things were working fine with the hat clip, but the headphone tracker was stuttering when I moved my head to the left.
I just changed my Light Filtering from the Default to '125' like you suggested and it is working perfectly now.
Thanks for posting your solution!
(Considering how many other people that I've seen post in the forums with this issue, maybe Grunt11Bravo's post should be stickied.)

Re: Not tracking properly.. Just Trackclip Pro
Hi everybody!
I bought the TrackClip Pro on saturday and I exeperienced exactly the same issue: something like two "dead zones", when turning my head left or upward, in which the tracking gets stuck and the software says "No data", instead of "tracking".
The first time I solved the problem disabling the light filtering (I use the device in a completely dark room, so I don't think I need it), and it became smooth again, as you said.
But then, yesterday, the same behaviour appeared again! This time I found I could solve it by increasing the "Preferred Object Size" to a higher value (I put 265, but without any specific reason).
Now I hope it will be ok once and for all, but anyway I would like to have a feedback from the support staff about the possible reasons for this problem.
Thanks for the attention!

Looking at the tracking screen, what do you see there?
Any red?
Are the objects being lost, as you move your head?

Re: Not tracking properly.. Just Trackclip Pro
Everything is fine with the setup, Vincent: 3 green dots, central position centered in the middle of the tracking screen, no red dots, no object lost.
Yesterday I experienced the problem again and I solved it enabling again the light filtering, with a value of 65.
Anyway, since this action seemed to be in disagreement with the ones I used in the previous days, and moreover none of them have been a definitive solution, I did an other test.
I restarted the TrackIr software, with no further change in the settings, and the problem appeared again! So I clicked on the "settings" button in the tracking screen and then I pressed "ok" in the settings page without changing anything, and...
...no problem anymore!!!
Concluding, it seems to me that it's just some kind of bug which arises when we start the software; simply entering the settings page on the tracking screen and quitting it without changes seems to clear that bug. Thus, no setup issue at all! Maybe a compatibility problem?
I didn't have time to make more tests, but I will and I'll let you know. Any idea about it???

Re: Not tracking properly.. Just Trackclip Pro
You could try deleting the default profile, and restarting the software, and it should recreate it, incase it is a settings glitch
Re: Not tracking properly.. Just Trackclip Pro
I made an other test, and I confirm that just entering and quitting the setting page, without changing anything, the problem disappears.
I followed your hint, Vincent, but I cannot delete the default profile: the delete button is not active for it.

Once the TrackIR software is closed, browse to the software install location
C:\program files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\profiles\
You can delete it here......
