Track IR5 not working with games

Just to clarify: it's possible to run TrackIR as an admin, but you then need to also run the game as an admin as well. It's not important to run TrackIR at any particular permissions level, but rather to run it at the same permissions level as the game.

After de-installing the older version yesterday evening, I updated to software version "5.0 Final B" (just released yesterday) and had no more problems - FS2004 was recognized just as well as my Strike Fighters 2! Cool!

So, no fiddling with admin-rights necessary...

The only thing I take care of, is that when I want to start FS2004 (which I usually do "as admin") I start the TrackIR-software as admin as well. When starting SF2 ("simple start"), I doubleclick the TrackIR, too - without "admin rights"...
Start the TrackIR the same way as the game - that's my "rule of thumb". [size:8pt](...Ah, that's what Seth just replied, when I was still editing...)[/size]


(Disclaimer: now that I write this, I become a little unsure if I it REALLY was the "5.0 Final B", because my saved "Beta"-version is saved directly next to that one on my USB-stick... But I guess this is just like "getting unsure whether one has left home with the stove hot"... )

Even with this latest software my TIR5 works with Rise of Flight, but not rFactor or Race 07/Evolution. If I use the version 4 software it works in all games.

Neither version Beta 4 or Final Beta will even start up after a clean install on both. I get a Microsoft Error message, "TrackIR 5.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close." My TrackIR 4 is on my machine and runs fine with IL2 1946.

Yes, TrackIR4 with 4.1.037 software runs fine. I had run TrackIR5 before but it does not seems to run with Beta4 or Final Beta.

Curently there is an OpenGL issue, withthe ATI drivers, that we hope to have resolved in a future version of the 5.x software.

Currently I'm using Catalyst Control Center 10.10 and I can't get TrackIR working...

Any workaround ?

No time line for the release.

The work around currently, is to use the 4.1.037 software.
