ok - roger, thanks.
I ended up having to scoot back some from the unit - it seems to pick up further away now?

I miss the 2X option.
I was able to get around the slow responce in IL 2 by bumping up the mouse speed in the game, but I still cannot get a fast enough pan speed in strike fighters even with everything full up!
you should be able to adjust the speed to be too fast.
and I still seem to lose center even in enhanced mode if I go way to far one way or the other.

Jim can explain more but this was a question asked by the BETA testers as well. The idea behind TIR is for it to be integrated into every game by built in code. This will do away with the keymapping effect completly.
So instead of trying to get the code for keymapping to work correctly, NP has decided to spend their time and resources into getting everything integrated into games.I agree that Absoltue mode is the way of the future, but I think they should bring keymapping back for a legacy support for older games (like Falcon 4) and I could see it of use in a RPG game to send certain spells. Until then I'm I'm probably going to leave 1.40 GX on my Win2000 partition since it works in that OS and use 2.0 on my Win98 partition for BOB and IL-2.

Anyone know if the trackIR people are specifically talking to Hitech Creations and Aces High for Aces High 2?
Without the keymapping feature we are just out of luck for Aces High 1 right?

Recon,
If you're getting an intermittant signal return in the view window (red/green flashing box around dots) Try dragging out the height and width filters to get a clean green box.
I found this smoothed things right out for me.

It will not be fully fixed until integrated support is in the game. There is no other way around that. It is happening though so dont worry. FB and LOMAC will have it, along with many others in the near future. BOB and FS2002 already have it.

Hondo I belive in a earlier post that Halstead said that they had been/were talking to the Aces High team, also the Warbirds team had shown a intrest too.
Also you can use TIR in AH as it is, AH supports mouse look by holding down mouse button when you set the viewing options in the joystick setup to the mouse X & Y axis, its a bit jerky though.
Keymapping was dropped because it was very buggy and was not able to be fixed, we were told this on these forums ages ago.

Re: comments,questions on version 2.0
I've already heard about the mouse mapping in Aces but I've tried the panning in that game and it is just to slow and jerky to use at all.
I'm content with just having FB in a few weeks and waiting for Aces to integrate it but I also wanted to be able to assign a key so I could use it for the look left and right in Nascar 2003 - which I doubt will ever have enhanced support.

I found this smoothed things right out for me.Yeah, to be honest I don't think that I describe these sliders well enough in the manual. I'll flesh them out for the next manual release (which will be soon). Mea culpa.
We're alos proabbly going to create a 2nd documnet that will track game-specific hints and tips, and be updated regularly.

and I am losing center in strike fightes in enhanced mode.
srtike fighters has full track IR support with the patch.
so I dont have much hope for FB.
I will have to go with mouse panning just like in IL 2 becouse I cant get enough speed without turning up the mouse speed in IL 2 up to 2.0!
