thanks Seth, I'll make that purchase, how much extra volume that I can be captured with new upgration plus 3 marke wand?

also I would like to know that is the max capturing volume with 24 camera system can be achieved? I know you guys have range of cameras, please explain this with the best cameras that available.

Cheers

With the newer calibration, you can move the cameras slightly off center. You are realistically going to be able to get an added 1-2 feet of capture volume (with the new calibration allowing for more accuracy on the edges of the volume itself).

The cameras themselves (V100 R2) are going to be somewhat limited on the setup area, as the max. distance that they can see, using the larger markers, is going to be 20-24 feet.

Hi!

Im currently using the 3-Marker calibration with the default settings but when the calibration engine does the calculation Im getting pincushion and barrel cushion distortion from the cameras. Although the calculation engine turns green for both collecting data, and applying result with very high quality. I still can see a huge distortion in most of the cameras (I have 5 cameras).

Does this mean there is something wrong with the camera lenses? or Do I have to change anything in the default setting (like setting the quality of solver to high or change exposure, threshold, or illumination)?

I also tried one marker calibration and it is a lot faster, but I dont know how I can compare the results of these two calibrations since the 1 marker calibration doesnt show lens distortions, so I have no idea how good my 1 marker calibration is. Surprisingly I get less untracked rigid bodies while using the results of 1 marker calibration. But this is very relative.

My tracking tools system has a lot of delay in solving a trackable object and the object gets untracked regularly while moving it. Is this because my calibration results are not that great? but then why does tracking tools detect it as a high quality with excellent overall result?

Im just a little confused about why I get so much lens distortion, and which calibration method will give better results while tracking objects.

Thanks!

How large is your setup area?

What model of cameras are you using?

What lens type?

12' * 8' area, with 5 cameras about 6' high.
Im using 5 OptiTrack FLEX:V100R2. Red, 57.5˚ FOV (3.5mm). FL-R2.RD.LENS0004

When you were working the calibration, had you adjust to the non standard lens type?

no I hadn't. I just made the change and it works a lot better now!
This is a good thing to be mentioned in the calibration tutorial video.

Thanks a lot!
